When Star came to us she was in poor shape, not only was her uterus prolapsed her bladder was also out. Star has had the surgeries to correct her health issues as well as spayed. She also has been on slow kill for her heartworms.

Star is a longing girl that would love a couch to rest and snuggle on with someone!

Heartworm Disclaimer

The shelter has started the heartworm positive dogs on Ivermectin to help start them on the slow kill method of heartworm treatment. Ivermectin alone does not cure heartworm and does not kill the adult heartworm. Adult heartworm will continue to damage a dog’s organs. Thorough heartworm treatment to cure a dog of the disease consists of diagnostics and a two prong approach to treatment for both the adult or immature heartworm. Veterinary care and supervision is key.

Star was picked up by AC with a prolapsed uterus, this sweet girl has been like this for around a week or more. She was rushed to our vet and we are waiting on the vet to call us. Star’s hold is up 5/7/19 and can be killed any time after that date at the discretion of the shelter staff.
