On August 17th, 2019, Ruin Creek Animal Protection Society and the Vance County Animal Shelter participated in a nationwide pet adoption campaign that is spearheaded by NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations, a division of NBCUniversal.

Together, this year during the event, we adopted 40 animals into safe, loving, pre-approved homes!

Michelle is one of the best people with the biggest heart I've ever met. She and the rest of the Ruin Creek crew are amazing and caring individuals.

Ruin Creek is great with their dogs. All the volunteers do a tremendous job with the animals. These dogs are socialized with others. Any questions you may have will be answered. A great group of people. I have been rescuing from RCAPS for over 2 years and will continue to do so. I would definitely recommend Ruin Creek Animal Protection Society

These volunteers work tirelessly to set up animals in this high kill shelter with rescue groups. I got my dog off of death row because I saw her on their Facebook page.

The work they do to save homeless, injured, discarded animals is unbelievable! They work tirelessly to make sure that every animal gets a second chance. A great organization.

Compassionate and actually screen the rescues they work with. They care deeply where their shelter dogs go.

They do great work, week in, week out. Many animals saved because of their efforts. I am happy to contribute where I can.

They do amazing work. I wish more people were like this.

I've never been there but I got my wonderful dog Pritzie from them. They rescued her and she got her ticket to freedom from them and sent her up to another wonderful animal rescue in NY. They try to help all these animals get good homes and work tirelessly to do so.

This remarkable group of people is a joy to work with. Our rescued cat Bliss is a full part of our family here in Washington DC. She gives us tremendous pleasure. Thanks so very very much. Olivia

We wanted to adopt Kora &/or Kira from the available animals and were told by VCAS to contact RCAPS who told us they were sending them to a rescue in NY, why take donations to fill a ride ticket if someone local would like to adopt/rescue???
