Why Donate…….

A countless number of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens enter the Vance County, NC Animal Shelter each day. Some of these animals are injured, crippled, or sick and require immediate veterinary care. Others are just thrown away like yesterday’s trash. Despite the torments they endure, the ray of hope shines brightly in their souls. Our fight is for their survival until they are transported on our “Ride to Freedom” van to rescues and safe havens along the Eastern Seaboard.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is supported by the donations we receive from caring, compassionate people who believe that every animal deserves a second chance. We are not government funded so we do not receive any federal, state or local tax dollars. Plus, we are not affiliated with any other rescue organizations. Every donation we receive is used to cover medical expenses, vaccinations, health certificates (required for the animals crossing state lines), maintenance on the “Ride to Freedom” van, which travels at least 1,000 miles every weekend, including gasoline, tolls, and insurance. Every donation means that our donors are partnering with us in our lifesaving work to transform lives from threatened to safe; from lonely to loved; from frightened to fearless; from sick to healthy; from hurt to healed; and from abandoned to adored.

We believe that every rescued animal is a little miracle. We believe that all mix, manner, and age of breed are beautiful. We believe in the importance of home. We believe that those who run rescues are everyday heroes, and we believe in saying, “thank you” for every good deed done to help our cause.
